Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery

The Montgomery Civitan Club is a sponsor of the Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery.  BGCM has two sites: West End Boys & Girls Club 220 Crenshaw Street (263-3371) and Chisholm Boys & Girls Club 2612 Lower Wetumpka Rd. (265-2469). The clubs are open 3:00 -9:00 pm during the school year and 9:00 am -5:00 pm during the summer and holidays. BGCM is a after school program that offers Homework Help, Tutoring, Arts & Craft, Sports Fitness & Recreation, Character & Leadership and Health & Life Skills.

BGCM wants to help the youth in the community as much as possible by raising grades and truancy issues at school. BGCM believes that once a student leaves school that he or she needs to be in a positive place and that's where Boys & Girls Clubs of Montgomery can make difference in a child's life in school and out of school.

On September 24, 2010, the Montgomery Civitan Club welcomed Rick Jackson, the Director of the Montgomery Boys and Girls Club who took over in April of 2010.  He said that the program now serves 1,069 children in the area and he said that they take kids who are being torn down by the world around them and builds them up so that they can grow and prosper in todays society. True to our commitment to building better citizens, our help for this program brings these children into a better place for themselves and for the community at large.
